This isn't to say that everyone else's wasn't good enough for me. The issue was that no one could ever remember exactly what portions they used of the ingredients, which meant that 50% of the time it was great, and 50% of the time it was either too runny, or too hard.
So, I made it a couple of times, and actually remembered to measure what I was throwing in, and I've finally got it down. Yes!
Worlds Best (and easiest) Nacho Dip
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Chill Time: 30 minutes
Serves: 6 - 8Ingredients:
1 pkg cream cheese
1 cup sour cream
½ tbsp taco seasoning (optional)
1 jar salsa
1 ½ c shredded cheese (I like a mix of cheddar and mozzarella)
Directions:
1. Shred the cheese that you want to use.
2. Put the cream cheese in the bowl of a food processor and mix until smooth. Add the sour cream and taco seasoning and mix until well combined.
3. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly in the bottom of a glass baking dish. Top with the salsa, then with the shredded cheese. Chill until the cheese firms back up a bit, about 30 minutes. If you're in a rush, it's find to eat right away.
Enjoy!
NOTE: There are all kinds of other things you can add in here, like freshly chopping jalapeños, onions or peppers. I prefer to leave it as is, and just bump up the flavor by using home made salsa when I have an extra jar lying around.

Hm, that seems like a pretty tasty dip. Adding a little extra spice in the salsa might be good, though. When it comes to stuff like nachos, a kick of spice can make something good into something great.
I have a similar recipe, except I use cream cheese, mayo, and sour cream. I layer with salsa, then lettuce and shedded cheese. My husband ate the whole bowl!!
I made this today for an early Christmas get together with my Dad's side of the family. It was great except I must of used too much salsa or something bc there was tons of juices in the dish! But really I didn't care because it was delish! Thanks for a great and easy dip recipe :)
Peach salsa on this is amazing....& I don't even like peaches!!
try adding mayo in with sour cream and cream cheese.
Sound's great. I'm gonna try it ! Thnx.
What works really good is mix seafood sauce with salsa and then spread on sour cream/ cream cheese blend. It gives it a really great zip.
Also adding mock crab on top of that layer really gives it a seafood taste without having to splurge for crab or lobster
We use a related recipe for this:
mix taco seasoning with cream cheese and spread on the bottom of a pyrex. Make taco meat. We do it by cooking 1 lbs of hamburger (or sausage is good too) and mix in 1/4 cup of water and 2 tbs of home made taco seasoning Or 1 pack and simmer. When its all together add 1 jar of banana peppers rings, diced, into the meat and add just a little of the juice. Spread this over the cream cheese mixture. Then add what ever cheese you like, we use 1 cup pepper jack and 1 cup extra sharp cheddar. Bake just long enough for the cheese to melt (under the broiler is my favorite way). When you are ready to serve, accompany this dip with lettuce and tomato. Use with fritos scoops
Great information
Thanku for sharing lovely post
This sounds good, but are you supposed to eat it cold??
How much mayo should I add?
Instead of Mayo , I add 1 tbsp. Ranch dressing....yum...
Yes! It's a chilled dip. :)
Looking forward to making this for a Super Bowl Party. What size glass baking dish? Also, if I were to add mayo, what would the proportion to the cream cheese and sour cream be?
I love to add refried beans mixed with a little butter to help smooth them out and make them more spreadable, I also add guacamole. It’s my 5 layer dip. It’s usually gone before I can even get to it to have some myself lol.
I usually let the salsa drain in a strainer prior to adding it
